This is an awesome set of High Resolution textures for the Quake 2 source ports, gathered and sorted from the many of the different packs.
This article and screenshots cover the performance of Quake2Max with the High Resolution textures pack for Quake 2.

Installation instructions:
- Ensure that you have Quake2Max installed and configured as described in above article.
- Unpack the textures archive to the 'baseq2' subfolder of original game (this was 'E:\games\Quake II\baseq2' in my case).
- Start the game by running 'quake2max.exe'.

Sorry jmcgill, but I can't find the problem now. I've just tried to download a file, and there is no problem with it. What browser/software are you using for downloads? May be there is a compatibility issue I can fix from my side.

Quake2Max crashes to desktop on Win7 whenever I try to execute it. Also, the link you provided doesn't work. :(
